2025 Secondary 1 Registration
A warm welcome and congratulations to all Secondary 1 students who will be joining St. Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School (SACSS)!
We will be conducting the Secondary 1 Registration online on 19 December 2024 (Thursday).
Parents and students do not need to be physically present at the school.
1. Secondary 1 Online Registration
Details for the session are as follows:

The Zoom login details will be available on Parents Gateway starting from 8:15 am on 19 December 2024.

Please ensure you have downloaded the Parents Gateway mobile application from the Apple App Store or Google Play beforehand.

You may log in to Parents Gateway from 8:30 am onwards on 19 December 2024 to retrieve the Zoom details.
The Online Registration Briefing (via Zoom) will start at 9:30 am.

2. Administrative Details for MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (For MOE FAS)

If you have applied for the 2025 MOE FAS, please approach the school with your approval letter from the processing school. We will inform of the administrative procedures from there.

Collection dates for books and uniforms: 19, 20, 23, 26 and 27 December 2024. Please remember to make an e-appointment on the Pacific Bookstore website.

3. Information on Subject-Based Banding (SBB) and Higher Mother Tongue (HMT) Eligibility

Subject-Based Banding

You will be informed via Parents Gateway on Friday, 20 Dec 2024 if your child is eligible to take a higher-level subject.

Please respond with your acceptance or rejection by Wednesday, 24 Dec 2024, 12pm.

Higher Mother Tongue
-
Your child will be eligible to offer HMT if she meets the following criteria:
-
Attain PSLE Score of 8 or better OR
-
Attain PSLE Score of 9 to 14 inclusive; and achieving (i) AL1/AL2 in MTL or (ii) Distinction/Merit in HMTL.

If your child is eligible to offer HMT, you will have received this notification along with the result slips. You will also be informed via Parents Gateway on Friday, 20 December 2025.

Please note that HMT lessons will be offered in designated external Higher Mother Tongue Centres after school.

Offering MTL at Less Demanding Level (LDL)
-
Students who experience difficulties in coping with the subject have the option to offer Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) at a less demanding level, based on their PSLE performance.

Students who meet the above PSLE MTL grade criteria may choose to offer MTL at a less demanding level if they prefer. However, we recommend that these students initially pursue MTL at the highest level (aligned with their posting group) and try the subject for at least one year before deciding to switch to a less demanding level. A Parents Gateway (PG) notification with additional details will be sent to the parents of eligible students.
