Canossian Spirituality in Action
“Education is the Moulding of the Heart” - St Magdalene of Canossa
At the heart of a Canossian education is a deep desire to nurture the whole person—heart, mind, and spirit.
Each day, students are gently guided to form their hearts through moments of prayer and reflection, learning to grow in charity, humility, forgiveness and faith - values embodied by our Canossian Saints.
At the same time, students are invited to enlighten their minds. They come to see that true excellence is not measured by personal success alone, but by how their gifts can serve others and contribute to the greater good. In this, they are shaped by the spirit of Catholic Education—grounded in “Truth, Justice, Love, and Freedom”, summed up beautifully by William Cardinal Goh that “Gospel values must permeate everything that we do, explicitly and implicitly”.
Their spirits, too, are empowered through the Word of God—alive, life-giving, and transformative. In creating spaces where the Gospel can be experienced in authentic and meaningful ways, students are encouraged to become Christ's instruments of hope and healing in the world.
Across liturgies, reflections, and outreach opportunities, every student is invited to belong, to participate, and to encounter faith in a way that is personal and real:
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the Catholic community gathers for a time of prayer and reflection before school, singing songs of praise, encountering God in the Word and learning new and different ways of prayer.
Alternate Wednesdays see us celebrating our highest praise and worship - the sacrifice of the mass, at the Chapel of St. Anthony’s.
Everyday, at morning assembly, the whole school pauses for a moment to be still, preparing ourselves for the day ahead by spending some time with the God who calls us Beloved.
Through these shared experiences, faith and friendship grow in tandem. Students live their faith through acts of loving service to their "neighbours", growing to become Canossians of Influence.
Living Through The Liturgical Seasons
Throughout the year, students are invited to journey together in faith through thoughtfully designed experiences that deepen their appreciation of the Gospel and their relationship with God.
During the Lenten season, students enter into a shared journey that invites them to reflect on the themes of fasting, almsgiving and penance. They are gradually guided into deeper encounters with Christ through prayerful experiences, sacred spaces, and moments of quiet contemplation. These journeys invite students to walk more intentionally in the footsteps of Christ—growing in awareness, humility, and love.
As the season unfolds, students are given space not only to reflect inwardly but also to journey together as a community of faith. Through meaningful prayer experiences and shared moments of stillness, they come to appreciate the significance of the Lenten journey as one of transformation and hope.
The joy of Easter is then celebrated in ways that are both reflective and life-giving. Through creative expressions such as dramatisations of Scripture, students are invited to encounter and experience God’s mercy and forgiveness in a personal and engaging way. These moments serve as powerful reminders that true peace is found in reconciliation, faith, and love. Through interactive and collaborative activities, students experience the spirit of renewal and new life, strengthening bonds of friendship. Celebrations of Easter also bring the school community together in joy and anticipation. Through interactive and collaborative activities, students experience the spirit of renewal and new life, strengthening bonds of friendship while engaging meaningfully with the themes of hope and resurrection.
As Easter People, we are always invited to experience Christ’s love, to be healed and transformed by His graces. We invite you to join us on this journey of growing into our belovedness through the various catholic ministries we have in school.
In the words of Our Foundress, we are called to “make Jesus known and loved, forever.”
